A new study says low-carbohydrate/high-fat diet and a high-carbohydrate/low-fat diet have been proven to improve weight loss, enhance mood, and speed thinking.
However, the low-carb diet may offer less benefit when it comes to the rate of cognitive processing.
Researchers at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization-Human Nutrition, in Australia compared mood and cognitive function in overweight or obese, but otherwise healthy, men and women between the ages of 24 and 64.
The study was reported by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and took place over a period of eight weeks.
