Arrest Made in Miami Teacher Shooting

MIAMI (AP) - Authorities say a teenager is facing attempted armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder charges after trying to rob a Miami-area high school teacher and shooting him.

Nineteen-year-old Patrick Lively was arrested yesterday. Two others were taken into custody but have since been released.

Authorities say he tried to rob teacher Sergio Miranda who had been taking a cigarette break across the street from Miami Carol City Senior High School during lunch when he was confronted. He was then shot in the upper torso.

A school district spokesman says the teacher's injuries are not life-threatening.
