BUSHNELL, Fla. (AP) - Expansion work is ready to begin at Florida National Cemetery. Up to 41,000 new grave sites and other amenities will be added to the Bushnell cemetery.
More than 88,000 veterans and family members have already been interred at the 512-acre cemetery. The expansion will add 70 more acres. The expansion project is expected to take two years to complete.
Florida National Cemetery is the country's second-busiest national cemetery. It sees an average of 35 services a day.
