ATLANTA (AP) _ The Reverend Creflo Dollar, who is under investigation into alleged financial wrongdoing, says his megachurch took in $69 million last year.
Dollar says he released World Changers Church International's finances in response to the Senate investigation that targets him and five other well-known televangelists.
But he says his salary comes personal investments, including businesses and real estate ventures.
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, began the investigation this week after he received tips about preachers who ride in Rolls Royces and have purportedly paid $30-thousand dollars for a conference table.
Grassley sent letters to the half-dozen Christian media ministries earlier this week requesting answers by December 6 about their expenses, including use of fancy cars and private jets.
Dollar says while he understands the senator's worries, he questioned the investigation's focus on religious groups.
