RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) _ Three schools in Riverview will remain closed today, as officials try to contain an ammonia cloud unleashed earlier this week by a teen drilling into a pipeline.
Hundreds of homes remain evacuated. Officials say the both ends of the steel pipeline have been capped, but the pressure remains too high to seal the hole.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says the ammonia cloud is burning off, but it's a slow process.
The 16-year-old boy was seriously burned when a gas cloud burst from the pipeline. He told police he and two friends drilled into the pipeline looking for money they believed was inside. Officials said he likely will face felony charges.
