TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ A former "American Idol'' finalist completing a drug-rehabilitation program that will be televised nationally pleaded no contest to charges of battery and possession of cocaine.
Jessica Sierra was sentenced to 12 months probation and random drug screening. She must also complete the drug-rehab program she is in and follow up with a second part of the program.
The 22-year-old singer is accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass at a Tampa nightspot in April. Officers found a small amount of cocaine on her.
She must also pay restitution to the person she struck with a bar glass and must ask permission from her probation officer before traveling.
Her rehab will be documented on VH1's reality show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.''
