CBS-They may be 200 miles away from home, but Peggy Whitson and Dan Tani have Thanksgiving on their minds.
"We wanted to say happy Thanksgiving to all our NASA viewers," says Expedition 16 Commander Whitson. "We feel particularly privileged and thankful to be up here on board the International Space Station this Thanksgiving, and we're looking forward to our activities this week. We have a busy week with spacewalks, and we hope that you also are having a great Thanksgiving."
Whitson is joined at the space station by Flight Engineer Dan Tani.
The astronauts will not be dining on the traditional turkey and cranberries, but shrimp cocktail and packaged fruit.
