Deputy Stabbed

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) _ A Broward Sheriff's Office sergeant
was stabbed in the stomach and authorities are searching for the
suspect.

Authorities say 29-year-old Sergeant Lisa Disavino was released from a hospital yesterday. She was released hours after she was attacked while checking out a suspicious man who was standing near a bus stop in the Broward County suburb of Tamarac.

Sheriff's office dispatchers received a call at 2:12 a.m. yesterday from Disavino. Authorities say she said she had been stabbed in the stomach.

Authorities say they went to the scene and Disavino was transported to Broward General Hospital in good condition.

Law enforcement officers are searching for a suspect said to be wearing a green Miami Dolphins jersey with the number 99. The man likely fled on foot and was considered dangerous.
