BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) _ A Sarasota man who authorities say pretended to be a deputy sheriff will spend a year on probation and
complete community service.
Jeffrey L. Bayley has agreed to a plea deal and a felony police impersonation charge against him has been dropped.
He has pleaded no contest to trespassing, a misdemeanor charge.
Authorities say Bayley drove into a secure section of the Manatee County jail in a white car that looked like a police cruiser. He was wearing a shirt that had an embroidered gold badge and a laptop computer was in his car.
