Deadly Home Invasion

NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) _ Newnan police have arrested a 20-year-old man
and charged him with murder in the shooting death of 70-year-old Bill Williamson Senior at his home.

Newnan Police Chief Buster Meadows says officers arrested Christopher Deon Fendley about 2 p.m. Monday. The chief says Williamson may have known Fendley or at least known of him. Police have not yet found the weapon used in the killing.

Williamson was shot to death Friday morning in his home east of downtown Newnan after a male suspect broke in through the rear of
his home. Meadows says Williamson, who owned a salvage company in the Raymond area, was with his wife, JoAnn, when the home invasion occurred.

Meadows says the suspect had a brief verbal confrontation with Williamson, who was shot at least twice. He says Williamson's wife hid from the suspect.

Police have not said whether anything was taken from the house.
