BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) _ The wife of a Marine from Bradenton says she has received enough donations to send more than 400 small Christmas trees to Iraq for troops.
Hala Harper says she received 500 requests from across the country from families of troops who want to send a Christmas tree adorned with family photos to their loved one.
Harper says she's so far raised more than $21,000 which is enough to ship about 400 of the trees. A tree and the shipping costs around $50.
Harper sent a tree last year to husband David last year and wanted to do more this year.
She says about 250 of the trees have been shipped, and she plans to send the remaining trees Friday.
