TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Despite the high gas prices, more
people are coming to Florida to visit than a year ago.
The state's tourism marketing board says 21.1 million people
visited the state in the third quarter of 2007.
That's a 4.8 increase compared to the same period in 2006,
according to preliminary figures released by Visit Florida.
The number of domestic visitors accounted for 93.7 percent of
that total, with 5.1 percent attributed to overseas visitors. The
remaining number of visitors came from Canada.
