TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Tampa authorities say a man stabbed his brother for failing to buy cocaine with $20 he gave him.
Police charged Phil Edward Johnson with attempted murder.
His brother, John Butler Tyler, told police it was Johnson's birthday and he wanted cocaine to celebrate. Tyler said Johnson gave him $20 to buy cocaine, but when Tyler gave the money to someone else who was supposed to purchase it, Johnson got angry and pulled a knife from his pocket.
Police say the 54-year-old Johnson stabbed his 37-year-old brother twice in the stomach.
Tyler is being treated at Saint Joseph's Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Johnson is being held without bail at the Orient Road Jail.
