FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) _ Members of a Fort Lauderdale church are reeling after learning their pastor was arrested and charged with getting a teenage congregant pregnant.
Plantation Police say the Reverend Cory Cortezis Lewis knew the teen for most of her life and acted as her godfather and minister.
Lewis brought the victim to an empty house and vacant business in 2006 and had sex with her on multiple occasions. When the girl became pregnant at 15, he wanted her to have an abortion.
When she didn't and her pregnancy became obvious, he told the teen's family and eventually the entire congregation.
Lewis was charged with sexual battery on a minor and booked into Broward County jail November 20th. He bailed out the next day.
