ATLANTA (AP) _ Judge Ural Glandville sentenced Chaunson Lavel McKibbins to life in prison Wednesday in the murder of 27-year-old Demetrius Robbins.
McKibbins was a fugitive from his drug trafficking trial when he
and five others abducted Robbins on Nov. 18, 2001, took him to an
apartment and tortured him.
After Robbins was killed, McKibbins cut up his body, buried his
head in Fulton County and the rest in DeKalb County.
Police captured McKibbins in October 2004. Two associates
pleaded guilty to charges related to Robbins, but three were
acquitted of murder.
