LEXINGTON, Ga. (AP) Oglethorpe County Sheriff Mike Smith says 30-year-old Therron Johnson and 22-year-old Randy Lamar Johnson Jr. are in jail on two counts each of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery for the July 7, 2006, incident. Authorities say the two Athens men shot and killed 53-year-old Ronnie Cooper and 39-year-old Vickie Wolford in a mobile home near Arnoldsville that belonged to a friend of the couple.
Family members say the Johnsons did odd jobs for Cooper and
plotted to rob him of the $50,000 in inheritance checks he had
received just days before his murder.
