LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP)

A utility worker killed while repairing wind-damaged lines in Kentucky has been identified as a Florida man.

Authorities say 28-year-old Stephen Allen McMath of Vero Beach, Fla., appears to have died of electrocution, but autopsy results are pending.

McMath was a contractor for Advanced Utilities Services of Melbourne, Fla.

Utilities continued to work Sunday to reconnect customers whose power has been out for a week since the remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through the area with winds gusting up to 75 miles per hour.

Kentucky Public Service Commission spokesman Andrew Melnykovych said as of Sunday morning, 43,500 people in Kentucky remained without power.
