WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- Winter Springs police say a man
accidentally shot and killed the woman he was to marry the next
day.
The police chief said there was no reason to believe that
62-year-old John Tabutt meant to kill Nancy Dinsmore -- also 62 --
early Friday morning. Police said the groom-to-be was very
distraught, but an investigation will continue.
Police said Tabutt thought he heard an intruder, got his gun and
fired at a figure in the hallway. It was his live-in girlfriend,
who family members say he was going to marry Saturday during a
small ceremony.
