Flight Returns to Airport After Piece of Engine Falls From Sky

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ A plane returned safely to the Palm Beach International Airport shortly after take off Sunday after losing a piece of its engine cover.

The JetBlue flight took off at about 6 am and the pilot radioed the airport he had felt the plane vibrate and was returning.

The flight was headed for New York carrying 150 passengers and six crew members. A spokeswoman for the airline says the entire flight lasted only about 18 minutes.

JetBlue brought an airplane from Fort Lauderdale to take the passengers to New York. The flight took off again at about 10:30am and landed safely in New York.

The airline says each customer will receive a JetBlue voucher equal to the cost of the round-trip for the inconvenience.
