SEMINOLE, Fla. (AP) _ A worker who was helping install sewer lines was killed when the bucket on a large backhoe struck him in the head.
Authorities say 21 year old David Duquette was working in a large hole adjacent to the Pinellas Trail Friday.
The bucket of a large backhoe suddenly swung around and struck him. The backhoe then fell into the hole
Officials say workers were still inside the deep hole when the backhoe fell, but they were not struck because they were so far below Duquette.
It is unclear why the backhoe swung around and then swerved into the hole. The sheriff's office is investigating.
