Manmade Beaches

Unlike Florida residents, not everyone has the good fortune of hitting a beautiful beach.

In Germany, they're having to get resourceful and create a man made destination.

Workers and tourists in Berlin on Monday escaped the heat by visiting the man made beach bars set up along the city's spree river. The high pressure system named as "Peggy" has brought an early summer to many parts of Germany.

The beach bars and cafes which have grown in popularity in recent years providing refuge for those wanting to relax.

Patrons can lie in the sun, drink cold drinks or dip their feet into a refreshing pool. One bar set up by the German parliament was aimed at political and media workers although tourists are also using it.

Germany has registered uncharacteristically good weather over spring so far.

Over the weekend people ventured outdoors to enjoy the day, playing and having barbecues in parks around the bigger cities.

Other European countries like Belgium, Spain and Britain are also enjoying beautiful weather.
