ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ The Simpsons television series has spawned
a generation of devoted fans, a feature length movie, numerous
catch phrases and now a theme park ride.

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando announced
today that the longest running sitcom on television was the
inspiration for a new ride to be featured at each park.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson will ride along as
visitors travel through the town of Springfield.

The attraction will be Simpson character Krusty the Clown's
dreamed-up fantasy as he envisions his own amusement park, complete with thrill rides and live shows.

Universal spokesman Tom Schroder says all of the elements of a
theme park will be housed in this single attraction.

The show's creator, Matt Groening, is collaborating with Universal on the project.

The attraction will open in 2008.
