Authorities are searching Saturday for suspects who allegedly shot and killed a Broward County sheriff's deputy.
Sheriff Ken Jenne says Sergeant Chris Reyka was shot at least five times while looking for stolen vehicles early Friday.
Reyka had been checking the license tags of two cars in a Walgreens parking lot in Pompano Beach.
As he got out of his car, officials say someone got out of one of the cars and shot Reyka. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
A sheriff's spokesman says Reyka was wearing body armor, but it's not yet clear where he was shot. Police believe at least two suspects are involved.
A $105,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
Earlier this week another deputy was shot in the head after a traffic stop. A suspect has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in that shooting.
The deputy is hospitalized in critical condition.
