LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A Lawrenceville woman has been
sentenced to three years in prison for allowing her elderly father
to live in filth before he died.
Gwinnett County assistant district attorney David Keeton says
85-year-old Oscar Cividanes had "all types of human filth" on him
when a cleaning crew found him.
Authorities arrested Maria Cividanes was arrested in July 2008.
They also believe she had kept her father from leaving the home the
two shared.
Oscar Cividanes died about a week after his daughter's arrest
and just days before his 86th birthday.
The younger Cividanes pleaded guilty to felony cruelty to
persons 65 or older.
