DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A 3-year-old girl was injured after
falling from a third-floor apartment window in Daytona Beach.
Police say the toddler fell about 30 feet onto concrete Monday
evening from a unit at the Cape Morris Cove apartment complex.
Officers say the girl suffered head injuries, but was alert,
conscious and crying. She was initially taken to a Daytona Beach
hospital in stable condition and then moved by helicopter to a
central Florida pediatric hospital.
It wasn't clear how the child pushed out the screen and fell
through the open window.
Police continue to investigate the fall.
