FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) --
A Fort Myers woman says she didn't call emergency responders when her mother lay dying in her home because the two thought they would lose the house if officials discovered its filthy condition.
Authorities believe they recently found the remains of Gladys
Andrews in the home she shared with her 61-year-old daughter, Gail
Andrews. They discovered the remains, which were hidden by garbage and furniture, after days of searching.
According to The News-Press, Gladys Andrews had fallen about 14
months ago, and Gail Andrews couldn't lift her. The newspaper
reports that after Gladys Andrews eventually died, Gail Andrews
left the body on the floor.
Gail Andrews isn't facing criminal charges, but her house is now
condemned and might be demolished.
