SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) --
Candidates for Florida governor are scheduled to talk to Florida newspaper editors in a town-hall style meeting in Sarasota.
Democratic candidate Alex Sink, Republican Bill McCollum and
independent Bud Chiles are scheduled to appear Thursday in
Sarasota. The session is part of the Florida Society of Newspaper
Editors/Florida Press Association annual convention.
Rick Scott, the wealthy former hospital executive who has
charged ahead of McCollum in the polls for the Republican
nomination, will not participate. He said he would be in
Tallahassee instead, to file his paperwork to run for election.
