JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- A judge sentenced 20-year-old Jonathan Corey Scuderi on Friday. He was convicted in April of shooting into an occupied dwelling and discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a person, but he was acquitted on four counts of attempted murder.
No motive was given for the shooting, other than the fact that
Scuderi was drunk and had a habit of making poor decisions while
under the influence.
Sgt. Michael Paul, whose wife and two children were home during
last year's shooting, testified that his home was the only one
targeted. He believes he was targeted because Scuderi saw the
marked patrol car in front of the home.
