TAMPA, Fla. (AP) --
The family of a convict charged with killing two Tampa police officers asked that he be allowed to turn himself in safely as a massive manhunt continues.

State and federal agents investigated tips overnight, searching
for 24-year-old Dontae Rashawn Morris. He was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder, hours after police say he shot Officers David
Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab. Curtis pulled Morris over because the car
he was riding in did not have a visible tag.

The driver, Cortnee Nicole Brantly, fled the scene, but was
captured. Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor says she may be charged
later.

A pastor for Morris' family said they do not condone his
actions.

Authorities believe Morris is still in the area, but undercover
agents are also working statewide.
