Deputy Fired After Battery Charges

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (AP) -- A Panhandle deputy charged with sexual
battery has been fired from the Bay County Sheriff's Office.

Officials announced 27-year-old Benjamin Logue's termination
Wednesday. He had been arrested a day earlier.

Investigators say Logue was on patrol near Panama City Beach
June 19 when he ordered a woman into his patrol car, took her to a
secluded location and forced her to have sex with him.

The sheriff's office reportedly learned about the attack from a
third party and then contacted the woman, who confirmed what
happened.

Logue acknowledged having sex with the woman while on duty but
said it was consensual.

The sheriff's office is also investigating a possible second
attack.
