PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) -- Charlotte County officials are
investigating the deaths of a 90-year-old woman and her son.

The bodies found Monday were badly decomposed inside the home they shared in Port Charlotte. Authorities did not immediately release the names of the mother and son.

The sheriff's office says deputies were called to the home to
conduct a well-being check. The bodies were transported to the
medical examiner's office
