ATLANTA (AP) -- The federal government will fund research at Georgia Tech focusing on building better batteries for consumer electronics and reducing costs for renewable energy.
The Department of Energy announced Monday that Georgia Tech will receive $4 million for three projects meant to improve how the country uses energy.
One project aims to reduce the size and cost of laptop power
supplies and those powering other consumer electronics. Other research will focus on developing new ways to heat and cool buildings and more efficiently transmit electricity along power grids.
