PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) --
Republican candidate for governor Bill McCollum says he doesn't have enough money to counter all the attacks hauled at him by millionaire Rick Scott.

But McCollum on Tuesday angrily defended himself in front of a
Republican club, saying Scott is spending millions to distort
McCollum's record.

At one point McCollum picked up a Scott campaign mailer and went
point-by-point down a list of claims the former Columbia/HCA made
against him, telling the crowd all were inaccurate.

McCollum was considered a lock for the GOP nomination until
Scott entered the race earlier this year and spent millions on
television ads to take a lead in polls.
