I know first-hand what has gone on with this situation and I completely agree with Girls Family. I know who you are and you are completely right!!!! He does not deserve to go anywhere but prison!! And the mother is to blame also. DCF has failed these 2 beautiful girls immensely!! I will not stand up for someone whom I do not believe 100%. And I could care less what anyone else says about that. He knows right from wrong and knew what he was doing at the time!!! They will both end up in jail and hopefully the girls will permanently be placed with who they are with right now. I believe 100% that they are safe and in a completely better environment where they are.

I also know the families, and yes Matthew has had problems sence his mother passed away, but there is a lot mor to this than the public knows. For example, the mother of the girl was and is still married to Matthew. She had sence to know what kind of condition that Mathew was in before they got married. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Matthew in this, and I agree that the mother is just as much to belame as Matthew, more so for bringing him into the home. They were seperated and she was the one that brought him back to do exactly what he did. I hope that they are both punished and I also hope that the 12 year old gets the on going phyc. care that she surely will need for the rest of her life. As I understand that this is not the first time that the mother has placed her daughter in this position.

Letting a mentally challenged person take care of a child is like letting a fox into a henhouse. Matt, like his deceased mother, has a limited ability to function in society. He should never have been left in a position to do what he's charged with. There should be alot of people under scrutiny and facing charges right along with him....

I am a family member of these children and am so thankful that Matthew has been arrested. My family has tried to get custody of the girls for years and it took repeated abuse to the children before they were finally taken into custody. While both parents, and I use that term loosely, are mentally incapacitated to some extent, I assure you I will do my best to see that the girls get real justice. They should both be in prison NOT in a mental hospital. Prisons have medical personnel that are perfectly capable of administering psychotropic meds. There are services such as group homes that he could have gone to after his mother died, please don't act like the system put him out on the street because it was his choice! DCF failed these children miserably and shame on them, each and every one of them! Rest assured they are in a clean, safe and loving home now and will eventually be adopted; hopefully never to see either of these perpetrators again.

Justice is fixing to boil over on BOTH of them. Matt has been deemed competent to stand trial. No Florida State Hospital this time. The 'mother' is currently has the same address as Matt at the Jackson County Jail. She is being prosecuted for her role in the crimes committed against her daughter. Justice will be served. I'm feel so sorry for this child, DCF COULD have prevented all of this from ever happening. There were several indicators of abuse/neglect present way before this crime was committed. If a lawsuit were filed against DCF on behalf of this child, it would not be frivolous litigation, to say the least.

This person is mentally handicapped and some of the people he has had to live with since his mother died earlier this year are freaks and satanic. Many of them file false reports all the time and get away with it because they are not the one with mental issues. But they help family members to qualify for mental disability just so they can get the check from them. Don't know the whole story behind this case but chances are it had to do with him NOT giving his money to them. They have thrown him on the street in the middle of the month after his money has been spent and now that his mother is dead, he has no one to keep him on the right track. It's a very sad situation but no excuse for taking advantage of a child either. Just saying.
