LAUDERHILL, Fla. (AP) -- Autopsy results are pending for a South
Florida woman who died while having liposuction surgery to fulfill
her New Year's resolution to "look good."
Lidvian Zelaya had surgery Monday at Strax Rejuvenation Center
in Lauderdill.
Osvaldo Vargas says his 35-year-old wife was rushed to a Fort
Lauderdale hospital three hours after arriving for the plastic
surgery. By the time he arrived at the hospital, she had died.
The Broward County medical examiner says toxicology tests are
pending. An attorney for Strax says federal privacy laws prevent
him from discussing Zelaya's case.
Vargas says Zelaya was in good health but wanted liposuction and
a buttocks enhancement to improve her appearance.
