TALLAHASSEE, 12/21/2011 -- Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi agrees with a judge's proposal to fix the flawed ballot summary on a proposed state constitutional amendment.
The amendment would repeal Florida's ban on financial aid to churches and other religious organizations.
It also would add a provision that, instead, would require such funding in certain circumstances.
Circuit Judge Terry Lewis of Tallahassee last week ordered the amendment off the ballot because the ballot summary was misleading.
Lewis gave Bondi 10 days to submit a new version. But he also suggested a rewrite that he could approve.
Bondi on Tuesday proposed the language that Lewis had suggested.
The summary was challenged by clergy members, Florida's statewide teachers union and school boards and administrators.
They say the amendment would aid efforts to expand school vouchers.
