North Miami Beach, FL (AP) - March 28, 2012 -

Police say scores of South Florida students who walked out of school to protest the Trayvon Martin shooting investigation instead ransacked a Walgreens.

According to North Miami Beach police, approximately 80 to 100 students rushed through the store's front doors Friday. Police say the students disrupted shelving displays and broke roughly $150 worth of merchandise.

Police say store video shows the North Miami Beach Senior High School assistant principal trying to stop more students from entering. The video did not capture the students ransacking the shelves. It wasn't known if any items were stolen.

Interim Police Chief Larry Gomer said Tuesday that the students had the right to peacefully march in protest, but upending the store crossed the line. Police are trying to identify students who broke or took merchandise.

I know this posting is late but I just had to say it. When the black community would get their act together and promote familys, they will be on the road to recovery. As it is over 75% of black kids are raised by their grandmothers while mom is being a crack ho and dad is visiting his other 5 or 6 mothers of his other children and begging for some of her food stamps and welfare money. You NEVER hear Jessie or Al talk about this blight on the black race. And guess what, it's the same with the blacks in England, Canada, Germany or wherever they be.

To mother of two, what in the world are your letting your children read this for? And by the way the correct word is AFFECTED not EFFECTED.

don't blame Trayvon Martin for the stupidity of these students. this kind of mentality is what negates for the horror of stories like Trayvon's to the ethically challenged like most of the commentors here.

These folks have been chomping at the bit for this to kick off so they can get a new XBox, pair of Nikes, or a flat-screen! They are all thugs and crooks and are being the exact same thing Treyvon was.

Where's the justice for Walgreens?! That store was completely innocent and none of the attackers are arrested! JUSTICE FOR WALGREENS!

Yeah, real smart way to get your point across. And the girl who speaks excitedly about knocking everything off the shelf is exactly why there are stereotypes! She sounds extremely ignorant. I can clearly see where her future is headed.

THERE That'll teach Walgreens not to shoot Trayvon Martin again! What exactly were they trying to prove by doing this, and William, you must be referring to the right to PEACEFULLY assemble, does this look very peaceful to you?

At least part of the take-away message should be that teens are not adults and cannot be expected to think or act like adults. Makes it that much more important for adults to act like adults.

It is sad when people can't post comments without bashing each other. This is why America will eventually fall; hate, racism, snobbery, exclusion and plain old nastiness will eventually get us all! So Sad :(
