Corrections Officer Dead After Gunfight at Home

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say an Osceola County corrections officer is dead after an argument with another man at an Orlando home.

Forty-two-year-old Parris Williams died from his injuries at a hospital. He had been employed at the Osceola County jail since 2005.

Williams and Corey Lamont Thomas, 37, got into an argument sparked by a family feud on Friday. Both men were shot.

Jail records state Thomas has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
