Troopers statewide have spent the last two days keeping an eye out for commercial drivers breaking the law. They're checking everything from drivers licenses to weight limits.
"Yeah they are out there, and I guess they're just doing their job."
It's all a part of national operation truck safety week," said truck driver John DeLoach.
DeLoach stopped in Marianna Thursday on his way to Orlando. While he hasn't noticed any extra patrol, he likes the idea. "They need to look out for stuff like that. It's my safety too as well as yours," said DeLoach.
Highway patrol officials tell us they assigned 12 troopers to focus on several Northwest Florida roadways, including US 231, and state roads 71, 79, and 81.
But are they really out there?
Driver Robert Brabaw says he didn't see any. "I just come out of Melbourne, Florida headed for Eufaula, Alabama. I didn't once see a cop having anybody pulled over."
