[UPDATE] ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- September 24, 2011 -- 5:00PM

A Florida jury has convicted a millionaire real estate developer of murdering his wife in their mansion, which was part of a wealthy neighborhood where Tiger Woods and other celebrities have homes.

Developer Bob Ward was stoic as the verdict was read Saturday.
Before the verdict, he hugged his two college-aged daughters as the
women wept.

Ward was found guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal
shooting of his wife, Diane, in September 2009. The slaying happened days before she was to give a deposition in a lawsuit
alleging that he blew millions of dollars on big houses and expensive cars while his business failed.

Defense attorneys say that Ward's wife was suicidal, and that he
was trying to stop her from killing herself when the gun went off. Ward could face up to life in prison.

Jurors deciding the fate of a millionaire Florida real estate developer have headed back to the jury room for a second day of deliberations.

The six jurors deciding whether Bob Ward is guilty of second-degree murder headed back to the jury room shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday.

They deliberated more than 10 hours Friday and asked for testimony from two DNA experts, and they also asked to see the gun used in the shooting.

Ward is charged with shooting his wife, Diane, in September 2009
in the mansion they shared. The lived in a neighborhood where Tiger
Woods and other celebrities have homes.

Defense attorneys contend that Ward's wife was suicidal and that
he was trying to stop her from killing herself.

If only he'd taken the "battered spouse" defense. Experts say that most don't understand this phenom. Well, at least he's still live.

So, only criminals have guns? Guns don't kill people, people do? Well, this proves my point. The millionaire, most likely a Republican buying a gun with his tax break, lives in a wealthy neighborhood. A white man too! So when guns are so readily available and even are in successful people's expensive homes, they will be used. When you deal with human nature, ANYBODY can kill with a gun. It's not just the poor or black. Time for rational gun control!
