Pensacola, FL - December 4, 2011

Some Florida students are mourning after a high school student was killed while allegedly trying to break up a fight.

Authorities said 16-year-old Alonzo Dewayne Knight was shot in the chest outside his home after he tried to quiet down two people who were arguing in the street Friday.

The Pensacola News Journal reports Michael Palmer Davis was charged with second-degree murder Friday and is being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.

Friends said Knight was in the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Pine Forest. He was also a disc jockey at parties.

Their are no easy words to say about the the young person who was kill trying to break a fight between two students. My prayers go out his family on lost of their son. The sad true is more and more young people are choosing settle their differences with gun. instead of working out their differences without fighting. bottom line we need to teach kids that are better ways to workout their differences without fighting by talking about their differences with the help of a teacher.
