FORT STEWART, Ga. (AP) -- The body of a soldier from Fort Stewart
has been found in a recreational pond at the base.

WTOC-TV reports that emergency workers went to the scene
Saturday after getting a call from fishermen who saw the soldier
fall into the water. They were unsuccessful in a rescue attempt.

Authorities pronounced the soldier dead. The incident is under
investigation.
