COLUMBUS, GA -- More than a dozen attorneys have been nominated to fill the Superior Court judgeship vacated this month by Judge Doug Pullen's retirement.
The Columbus ledger-Enquirer reports (http://bit.ly/qeMK2w ) that the list includes Columbus attorneys Ron Mullins and Stacey Jackson, who were considered for a judgeship that was filled a year ago when then Gov. Sonny Perdue appointed William C. Rumer to the bench.
The nominating period closed on Friday. Applications are being sent this week and those nominated have to apply for consideration by the 19-person Judicial Nominating Commission.
The judgeship for the six-county Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit became open three weeks ago when Pullen retired amid a Judicial Qualifications Commission investigation into misconduct.
