STARKE, FL -- A Bradford County grand jury has indicted two state prison inmates in the May 17 slaying of another inmate at Florida State Prison.
Grand jurors on Wednesday returned first-degree murder indictments against 35-year-old William "Crawfish" Wells and Wayne C. "Tazz" Doty in the stabbing death of Xavier Rodriguez.
The Gainesville Sun (http://bit.ly/rdxmDy ) reports all three men were on the K-Wing at Florida State Prison. Rodriguez was serving a 10-year sentence and had been transferred to one of the state's most secure prisons for disciplinary reasons.
Wells and Doty were already serving life sentences. They face the death penalty if convicted in Rodriguez's death.
Wells was convicted of killing his wife, her father, brother and two other adults in Mayport. Doty was found guilty for a 1996 murder in Hillsborough County.
