Michigan Voters: Santorum Connects Better Than Romney

MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is storming through western Michigan, a state native son Mitt Romney was counting on for a boost going into the Super Tuesday contests.

Voters loudly applauded Santorum's promise Monday to revive manufacturing and get rid of environmental regulations. The former Pennsylvania senator's message of religious and social conservatism clearly was resonating during his stop at a Holiday Inn in Muskegon.

Although Romney has a large advantage in money and organization in Michigan, many voters say Santorum is more in line with their values.

Santorum's popularity risks embarrassing Romney in his home state. Romney was counting on a strong finish in Michigan's Feb. 28 primary before the Super Tuesday contests a week later on March 6.

Romney was scheduled to campaign in Michigan on Tuesday.

I love it that Santorum has become so popular. He is a Christian extremist lunatic whose campaign diatribes are alienating voters daily. I hope no one interrupts the roll he's on. President Obama would trounce him big time in a general election. 4 more years !!!

Four more years of what? Socialism, communism, how many freedoms are you willing to give up? We need to elect an American this time! If your beloved moron of a president wanted to create jobs and help the economy why didn't he allow the pipeline? Because he wants to cripple America! Open your eyes. People like you must really hate this country.

The economy is all that matters to American voters. The economy still sucks but the stock market is up and unemployment numbers are down even though employment is not up. Obama will win

That's bull. Unemployment is at 17% if you want to know the truth. Obama can not run on his record. He has none.

What's wrong with a christian? You actually like the kenyan/muslim/marxist usurper that is hell bent on ruining this country. He won't built a pipeline. He gives money to failing solar companies. Gives military secrets to enemies. Plays golf and goes on numerous vacations. I just don't get you people. White guilt I guess..

Ron Paul. The only real choice. The only one that understands the powers of the President and respects the Constitution and your rights as Americans.
