TALLAHASSEE 10/27/2011 -- The Bay County and Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Offices are investigating two separate dates reported of people impersonating investigators with the Department of Children and Families.
State officials released a statement Wednesday saying the children involved in both cases are safe. Parents are reminded that child welfare investigators always carry proper identification while investigating cases of child abuse and neglect.
In both cases, parents were told by the impersonators that they were investigators with DCF. Both families later called DCF and were told there was no open case on either family.
