LONGWOOD, FL -- During a visit to a plant in Longwood, Governor Rick Scott said Florida should implement some of the reforms Texas used to spur job growth.
"Chief Executive Magazine said we're the third best state to do business and if you look at what they've done in Texas over the last seven years, they've grown much faster in jobs than we have because they put more focus than we have on taxes, regulations, the permitting process, lawsuit reform, we've got to do the same things if we want to create jobs in this state," said Scott.
Scott wants to lower corporate income taxes for some companies in Florida to encourage them to hire.
He also wants to encourage colleges and universities to focus more on degrees in science, technology and math.
