NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Volusia County has reported its
first shark bite of the year.
A surfer was bitten Friday in New Smyrna Beach as the
49-year-old man was heading back to shore. He was attacked while
standing in just a few feet of water.
The man suffered minor injuries and officials say he did not
need to be hospitalized.
