Orlando, FL - A student stabbed a classmate in the chest with scissors Wednesday morning outside an Orange County middle school, according to officials.
The stabbing happened at Chain of Lakes Middle School on Conroy Windermere Road in Orlando.
Orange County Public Schools spokeswoman Kathy Marsh said an 11-year-old boy stabbed a 15-year-old boy in the chest as they were getting off a bus at the school.
"They were both in different grades, so I don't know what they're relationship was, whether it was a bullying situation or he was tormenting the other we don't know at this time," said Ginette Rodriguez of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The stabbing victim, an eighth-grader, was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The 11-year-old boy, a sixth-grader, was taken into custody, Orange County sheriff's deputies said.
The school was not placed on lockdown, Marsh said.
An investigation is ongoing.
No other details were immediately released.
The stabbing comes two days after an Osceola County middle school student was stabbed by a classmate in a fight over a Facebook post.
