UPDATED 10.4.2012 by Julie Montanaro

A suspicious package found at FAMU didn't turn out to be dangeorus and the man who put it there will not face any criminal charges.

The bomb robot rolled down the driveway of the Al Lawson Center Wednesday afternoon as authorities investigated.

FAMU's Interim Police Chief John Earst says a man placed a suspicious package on the stage during convocation and then walked out of the building.

The package was removed and examined. Earst says it turned out to be a first aid kit. He says the man who left it there was questioned, but there were no threats and there was no criminal intent.
